American Gothic Revival Mahogany Side chair attributed to A. Roux.
This chair was owned by a Gothic collector who was a personal friend of Lee B Anderson, the premier Gothic Revival collector. Mr Anderson\'s best pieces are being sold Jan 26th at Sotheby\'s N.Y.
This chair was purchased from Mr Anderson in 1996
This chair is illustrated in Howe & Warren, \"The Gothic Revival Style in America\" The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, 1976.

An American mid 19thC Gothic Revival shaving mirror, with original mirror backing and original finish also. Strongly attributed to New York cabinetmaker Alexander Roux. He was a competitor of Belter and Meeks in NY in the mid 19thC & his furniture is in all major American Museums

Mr Anderson was a client of mine many years ago, the table has a hand written note on the underneath, Mrs Francis M.
